Why Bother?

First impressions mean everything! When your potential buyer first views the house, it will be on a listing service looking at your photos. With a messy house, your potential buyers could be detoured away!

Here’s a few tips!

INTERIOR:

-Make sure the whole house is spotless! (Vacuum or mop floors, dust off surfaces, clean windows and mirrors!)

-Make sure all the beds are made neatly.

-Make sure all shoes or other clothing items are hidden!

-If the house is vacant, please make sure everything is neat! (Furniture, countertops, decor all needs to be neat!)

-Make sure there are no burnt out light bulbs.

-Turn off all ceiling fans.

-Turn off all TV’s or Computers!

-Turn on all the lights!

-Open all of the window blinds!

EXTERIOR:

-Close all garage doors!

-Make sure there are no objects in the yard such as dog toys, kids toys, sports equipment like basket ball nets or soccer goals unless they belong.

-Make sure all landscaping is up to date!

-Make sure there are no cars in the garage, driveway, or on the property.

-Make sure there are no work equipment visible such as lawn mowers, wheel barrels, garden hoses, etc.

-Roll the garbage can(s) out to the street!!!

BACKYARD:

-Tidy up the back porch! (All furniture is straight and neat)

-Make sure there are no objects in the yard such as dog toys, kids toys, sports equipment like basket ball nets or soccer goals unless they belong.

-If there is a pool: Make sure it is clean, remove pool vacuum and all cleaning supplies, remove all pool toys, turn on all water features and lights!

-Remove all garden/landscaping tools and water hoses.

-Remove any trash cans.

PETS:

-Keep the pet put up somewhere they won’t get in the way!

-Make sure all water/food bowls are put away (in the pantry or closet).

-Make sure all pet beds and cages are put away!

-Make sure all pet toys are put away!
